About Korea Patient Rights Guide
Korea Patient Rights Guide is an independent information site that explains Korea’s medical dispute procedure and public statistics in English and Korean.
It is not a law firm, a public agency or a medical institution, and it has no commercial relationship with any of them.

What does Korea Patient Rights Guide do?
It explains the routes, steps, deadlines and fees of medical dispute resolution in Korea from the law and official pages.
Articles are written by the Korea Patient Rights Guide editorial team. A named author will be shown once one is appointed.
What does Korea Patient Rights Guide never do?
It never assesses a case, represents anyone or refers people to lawyers, claims adjusters or medical institutions.
- It does not publish the names of clinics, doctors or lawyers, including in case examples.
- It does not describe any specialty or institution as dangerous; statistics are read with their denominators.
- It has no enquiry form and does not collect what you enter into its tools.
- Individual cases are assessed by the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency or a qualified lawyer.
Which sources does Korea Patient Rights Guide use?
The current text of the laws on the Korea Law Information Center, and the official pages of the mediation agency, the Korea Consumer Agency and KHIDI.
How are rules and figures checked and dated?
Each rule cites its article and the version of the law that was read, and each statistics snapshot records its edition and reference date.
Statistics are not shown until the yearbook edition is confirmed. When a law changes, the affected pages are updated and the date of the version read is changed with them. Where an official page contradicts itself, as the fee page does above ₩50 million, only the part that can be checked is published.
Does Korea Patient Rights Guide collect personal data?
No. There are no forms, and the tools run entirely in your browser.
